Sustainable Business Leaders Visit D.C.

When it comes to influencing public policy, it’s better to be at the table than on the menu!

That's the motto that is driving the American Sustainable Business Council's Annual Summit kicking off on September 29th, 2015. The organization advocates for policy change at the federal and state level that supports a more sustainable economy.  The ASBC represents over 200,000 businesses and 325,000 business executives, owners, investors, and others who want to make sure that the voice of sustainable business is heard by policy makers in Washinton D.C. and beyond.

With Congress and the White House struggling for ways to strengthen the economy, address climate change and break the political paralysis, the role of sustainable business has never been more important. The 2015 Summit aims to bring together responsible business leaders from across the country to influence the policies that will help make the American economy more just and healthy.

The Summit will focus on the the presidential election and changes to the policy landscape in 2016 with strategies on how sustainable companies and organizations can help shape the agenda. Speakers include U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN), and the 100+ attendees will conduct meetings at the White House with senior administration officials on key policy issues. The 3 day summit concludes with a lobbying visit to Capitol Hill.
