Pharrell + G-Star Raw Get Happy for the Oceans

By Ecouterre

If there's one thing Pharrell Williams knows, it's how to make a splash. The multi-hyphenate musicpreneur, together with denim label G-Star Raw, took to the stage at 23 Wall Street on Friday to unveil the "Raw for the Oceans" collection for Spring/Summer 2015. Like the line that preceded it, the upcoming range incorporates fibers derived by Pharrell's Bionic Yarn eco-textile firm from salvaged ocean plastic. "It's very easy to forget we live on this planet," Pharrell told the audience. "We don't want to just talk about it, but we actually wanted to put it in practice."

Ecouterre is a website devoted to the future of sustainable fashion design. We’re dedicated to showcasing and supporting designers who not only contemplate cut, form, and drape, but also a garment’s social and environmental impact, from the cultivation of its fibers to its use and disposal. Our ethos: To follow the evolution of the apparel industry toward a more environmentally sound future, as well as facilitate a conversation about why sustainable fashion matters.
