How to Enhance Your Natural Beauty, Without Going Under the Knife

How to Enhance Your Natural Beauty, Without Going Under the Knife

We live in a day and age where a beautiful smile, luscious curves, a healthy body—and the contentment that comes with having those things—can be manufactured in a doctor’s office.

Undeniably, surgery is one effective way to get all that. But if you’re not ready to lay your body bare on the operating table, there are other things you can try, ranging from the marvelous new technology of breast pills to the age-old study of aromatherapy.

Here, you’ll find out how to achieve peace and beauty without going under the knife!

1. Instead of expensive detox treatments, try deep breathing

Deep, cleansing breaths raise oxygen levels in your blood, a practice which has many benefits. Eastern cultures incorporate lots of deep breathing get you in touch with your body and how it interacts with the world, such as in yoga, meditation, and martial arts.

Increased oxygen supply to the brain improves clarity of thought. You are calmer, less anxious, able to absorb more information, and make more rational decisions. This in turn promotes relaxation, so your heart rate and blood pressure go down, reducing your risk for heart diseases down the line.

Adequate oxygen supply also stops your body from producing free radicals, harmful by-products produced by the body in the absence of oxygen, and improves detoxification. This keeps your body at top condition for longer

Being conscious of your breathing is easier than you think. Try this exercise:

  1. Lie on the floor, back flat on the ground, arms at the sides, and knees raised.
  2. Get a book (not too heavy, but not insubstantially light either) and balance it on your belly.
  3. Breathe in through your nose. Let the air inflate your stomach, not your chest, so that the book visibly moves upward. Then exhale through your mouth so the book visibly moves down.
  4. Once you’ve gotten the hang of inhaling deeply, add a straw to the exercise to improve your exhalations. Put the straw in your mouth. Inhale through your nose, deep enough to lift the book, and exhale through the straw to draw the breath out for as long as possible.
  5. Do this consciously until this sort of breathing becomes natural to you!

2. Instead of getting a face lift, try smiling

Smiling is a “fake it ’til you make it” habit. Have you noticed that when you pretend to be happy, or annoyed, or sick, sooner or later, your mood begins to follow? While mood is ruled by the brain, the expression we make with our facial muscles can trick our brain into shifting our mood to match our face.

In the long-term, developing a habit of smiling means reconfiguring the brain to think positively. When we smile, the brain releases dopamine, a hormone triggered by feeling joy, and endorphins, hormones that relax your body and reduce pain. The more of these hormones are swimming around the body, the more zen and relaxed you are.

It’s not just a mood thing. Don’t believe the cynics when they tell you smiling causes wrinkles. The same way working out your arms at the gym tightens your biceps and triceps, making a habit of pulling your facial muscles upward helps to firm up the cheeks, chin, and the periorbital area (the part of your face surrounding your eyes). Smiling also reduces frown lines: the grooves that appear between your eyes, on your forehead, and your jowls.

Practice smiling by doing a bit of light facial yoga: Smile for six seconds, then pinching the skin between the corners of your eyes and the corners of your mouth to hold the smile in place. Release and rest for ten seconds, then repeat. This prevents wrinkles from forming.

3. Instead of going under the knife, try enhancing your body naturally

Maybe you want a curvier body, but the thought of going all out and getting surgery intimidates you. That’s understandable—cosmetic surgery can be invasive, daunting, and expensive. Fortunately, there are ways to get the body you want without going under the knife!

Pills and creams made from all-natural ingredients are available on the market to enhance your curves, specifically your breast and butt. Breast pills, for instance, are made with the following ingredients:

  • L-Tyrosine
  • Vitamin E
  • Blessed thistle root powder
  • Kelp powder
  • Watercress powder
  • Dandelion root powder
  • Fenugreek extract
  • Fennel seed
  • Dong quai root extract

These ingredients contain phytoestrogens, substances that mimic the activity of estrogen and stimulate breast growth naturally.

Breast pills are generally safe, easy to obtain, and cause little to no side effects. Combined with exercises for your pectoral muscles and some fat supplementation from your diet, you can achieve the curves of your dreams without having to undergo cosmetic surgery.

Similar pills and creams are available to enhance your butt too!

4. Instead of loading up on synthetic vitamins, try investing in essential oils

Essential oils are fragrant plant extracts with various benefits to physical, emotional, and mental health. They have been used for centuries as an integral part of alternative medicine, although their use in hospitals in conjunction with medical procedures is gaining ground as well.

Various essential oils work aromatically, internally, or topically. They are used to treat skin conditions, reduce pain, aid with digestion, improve sleep, or to produce a calm mood.

There’s an essential oil for anything you could need. Here are common uses of some of the many essential oils you can invest in:

  • Tea tree oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties.
  • Sandalwood oil works as a natural aphrodisiac.
  • Peppermint oil soothes numerous pains, be it a sore throat, a headache, or muscle pain.
  • Rose oil does wonders for the skin and face.
  • Rosemary oil naturally fluffs and thickens hair.
  • Lavender oil promotes relaxation improves mood and sleep
  • Ginger oil reduces joint inflammation in arthritis
  • Lemon oil is a great cleanser for the body, as well as for the home

The difference comes down to the preparation of the oil you will need to achieve your desired effect. For instance, you’ll need to read about how many drops of peppermint oil to add to your tea for sore throat, or how much of it you can rub onto your temples after a long day of staring at a computer screen.

Essential oils are usually added to beauty products, dropped into water or tea, heated over diffusers, or rubbed onto the body to soothe pains or naturally beautify the skin and hair.

5. Instead of being conscious about the little things, try being consciously thankful

The trick is to remember that there is always one more reason to keep going, that we are part of a universe filled with marvelous, miraculous things far beyond our human troubles, and it is part of us. One way to be more conscious of the universe’s blessings is to start a gratitude journal.

It doesn’t have to be a fancy bullet journal spread–unless you want it to be! The most important thing you need to do is writing down at least one thing that you’re thankful for each day. Of course, if there are more than one, feel free to jot them all down, but there’s no pressure to fill an entire page every day. The goal is to be consciously but sincerely grateful, not to meet a daily quota.

When you express gratitude, focus more on people and experiences, rather than material things. Be more specific with your stories; for example, instead of simply writing “my family”, write “My family was complete around the dinner table tonight and we had pleasant conversations.” It will help commit the experience to memory, especially when you flip back after months of journaling and find you have a lot to be thankful for.

The best takeaway from gratitude journaling is that you find new things every day to be grateful for, or discover that they were there all along, just waiting for you to wake up to them.

It’s YOUR choice

With these five tips, you can be beautiful both inside and out, in your own time, and at your own pace.  But, you need to work hard and commit to your goals. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see results quickly. When making these tweaks to your lifestyle, diet and outlook, remember that you are investing in yourself.

Besides, you are more than worth it.
