Get Your Veg On! Chicago’s Veggie Fest

CHICAGO’S 11TH ANNUAL VEGGIE FEST   
Vegetarian fairs and expos are popping up in countries all over the world. It’s hard to keep up with them – Canada, Belgium, Hong Kong, Australia, Israel, Thailand, the UK, France, Malta, India, Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary – and twenty-plus states in the U.S. Vegan or vegetarian, it’s the most popular food trend in the world today and growing exponentially. If you want to sink your teeth into some of the best-tasting vegetarian food in the U.S., fill up your car with friends and family and head out to Veggie Fest Chicago, one of the largest vegetarian food and lifestyle festivals in North America.  The two-day festival, which last year drew record-breaking crowds of over 35,000 people from around the world, will be held this year on July 23 and 24 at the Science of Spirituality Meditation Center, 4045 Naperville  Rd., Lisle, IL 60532 from 11:00 am – 8:00 pm.
Veggie Fest has become a highly anticipated summer event in the Chicagoland area for all it offers attendees: a huge international food court with something delectable for all of your taste buds; health experts sharing tips on diet, lifestyle, and sustainability; engaging food demos by restaurant owners, chefs, and authors; a lively children’s tent with face painting, clowns, and crafts; live music from some of Chicago’s best bands; and over 100 conscious vendor booths to explore and connect with leaders in the vegetarian community. Keynote speakers include:  Dr. Kim Allan Williams, Sr., M.D. President, American College of Cardiology, Chief, Division of Cardiology, Rush University Medical Center speaking on Saturday, 1:00 pm in the main tent on “Nutrition and Heart Disease:  Taking the DIE out of Diet” and Dr. Terry Mason MD, Chief Operating Officer, Cook County Department of Public Health on Sunday, 1:00 pm on the topic of “The Public Health Approach to Breast Cancer.
With free entry, free parking and a culturally diverse, alcohol-free environment open to all, Veggie Fest is a stress-free family and community event where everyone can have fun while taking a huge step towards a healthier life and world.
